Terminate ≠ terminer
En une phrase
To terminate a contract = y mettre fin, le résilier (termination = résiliation). Terminer (achever) = to complete. Résoudre un contrat pour inexécution = to rescind (rescission), ou to terminate for breach.
Le vocabulaire des sorties de contrat : termination for convenience (sans motif), termination for cause / for breach, expiry (arrivée du terme), notice of termination (préavis).
La reconduction tacite se dit automatic renewal ; « tacit renewal » est un calque.
En situation
Either party may terminate this Agreement on three months' written notice.
