Natasha Costello

Natasha Costello is English, holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), is a solicitor of England and Wales (non-practising) and a law lecturer. She is a board member of the Global Legal Skills Institute and a member of EULETA, Clarity International (plain legal language), the Société de législation comparée and the Law Society of England and Wales. She has worked with Linguaid since 2023, helping French lawyers and in-house counsel develop their language and professional skills in legal English.
With more than twenty years’ experience, Natasha has taught law and legal skills to English- and French-speaking audiences in a variety of academic and professional settings.
Before moving into training, she practised as a solicitor and as a professional support lawyer at law firms specialising in commercial real estate in the UK. She then became Senior Lecturer in Law at Manchester Metropolitan University, teaching property law, professional conduct, accounts and legal skills. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in higher education.
Based in Paris, she now works as an independent trainer, working with several universities and legal institutions to teach English law and legal English.
Natasha is the co-author, with Louise Kulbicki, of Practical English Language Skills for Lawyers: Improving Your Legal English, a practical guide for lawyers and law students who want to strengthen their language and professional skills in an international context.
Passionate about teaching, she designs interactive, practical training centred on real communication situations in the legal world, to create the best possible learning environment.
